Storyline Live Link: Real-Time Multiplayer Comes to Storyline

For the first time, Articulate Storyline developers can create real-time multiplayer experiences directly inside their projects. Using Storyline Live Link, learners can host or join their own multiplayer session room via a simple room code.

Up to four learners can participate in each session, with Storyline variables seamlessly synced across all users in near real time. This makes it possible to design head-to-head challenges, cooperative problem-solving activities, and other interactive group-based experiences – all within Storyline.

Live Link Code Wizard: Copy, Paste, Play

Version 3.3 also introduces the Live Link Code Wizard, designed to make multiplayer development as simple as possible.

The Wizard generates four ready-to-use JavaScript snippets which can be dropped straight into your Storyline triggers. Once published, your project is automatically ready for multiplayer through the Toolkit — with no external files required.

Simple but Powerful Multiplayer Management

Behind the scenes, the Toolkit handles all turn management and synchronisation. Clean WordPress integration ensures endpoints are automatically generated and managed when used with the Toolkit, while the lightweight JavaScript API keeps game variable handling straightforward.
